Data Privacy
homo digitalis GmbH
This data protection declaration contains information about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data when visiting homo digitalis’ website in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP).
Your data is kept safe
It is very important to me personally to handle data responsibly. As a matter of principle, I do not collect or buy data. I don’t do profiling and I think it’s questionable and nonsensical even in digital marketing. Personal data will only be collected on this website to the extent necessary and with the consent of the user or if you decide to contact me via the secure form. Specifically, the following data is collected on this website for the purposes described herein and used as follows:
Website Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are used to store small pieces of information. They are stored on your device when the website loads in your browser. These cookies help the website to function properly, it is more secure and provides a better user experience. They also help to understand if the website works in different browsers or on different devices and what needs to be improved. Necessary cookies do not store any personal data and therefore do not require consent or refusal. Functional cookies, on the other hand, enable functions on a website. These functionalities include embedding content such as videos or sharing content from the website on social media platforms. Neither is available on my website. I don’t have any social media widgets that share your data with the respective platforms.
However, I have integrated a pixel on my website for possible advertising purposes on LinkedIn, so that I can track whether and how many visitors from a campaign actually come to my website. This is important for campaign optimization. In this respect, a categorical distinction is made between necessary and functional cookies and cookies for analysis or advertising purposes. You can turn it on or off in the so-called cookie banner on my website or reject it completely.
Furthermore, in the cookie banner you can see which cookies are stored on your device, for how long and for what purpose. I was guided by the somewhat stricter guidelines of the EU instead of the data protection law of Switzerland. These cookies help me remember your settings and browsing preferences, such as language settings, so that you have a better and more efficient experience on future visits to the website.
Deleting cookies
If you decide to change your preferences later during your browsing session, you can click on the “Manage Consent” tab on your screen. This will bring up the consent notice again, allowing you to change your settings or withdraw your consent entirely. In addition, different browsers offer different methods for blocking and deleting cookies used by websites. You can do this by changing the settings of your browser. To learn more about how to manage and delete cookies, I recommend these pages: wikipedia.org, allaboutcookies.org.
Google Analytics and hosting server
When you access the homo-digitalis website, the following data is stored in log files both on my hosting server at Infomaniak in Switzerland and on Google Analytics:
- IP address
- Date
- Time
- browser search query and
- general transmitted information about the operating system or browser.
Google Analytics is provided by Google (Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) and Google may also inspect this data. Google maintains servers that are located in both Switzerland and the EU. Here, too, I limit the measurement of use to a minimum. The detailed privacy policies of the providers can be found on their respective websites.
Direct data collection
In order for us to get in touch, I need a few personal data from you. I have reduced this to a minimum. This only applies to the contact form or the direct e-mail to me. In the form, the data required for the transaction is requested and your consent is obtained. This data will only be used to contact you and will be stored for any subsequent enquiries. I do not use it for any advertising or marketing purposes. The legal basis for data processing is in accordance with Art. 4 of the FADP.
In order to protect data and information from unauthorized access, I use a number of security measures and modern technologies.
Contact Requests
E-mails that you send me or that I send are not encrypted and are therefore not considered a secure means of communication.E-mails can be temporarily stored, evaluated and read by intermediaries, for example by e-mail providers (such as Gmail, Swisscom, UPC, etc.), employers (for business e-mails), etc., but also by so-called “men in the middle”, especially – but not only – when using Wi-Fi or hotspots. E-mails for the communication of confidential matters or for the transmission of confidential data, in particular personal data, should therefore not be sent by e-mail. Please use my contact form instead. It is SSL encrypted.
Rights of information and deletion
You will receive information about your personal data stored by me at any time without giving reasons, but after an identity check. Of course, you can also request their deletion if you wish. Please make an initial request via the contact form so that I can contact you.
